Fernando Caruncho
Fernando Caruncho is one of the most famous landscape painters in our country, although his work and recognition crosses borders. Fernando has his origins in A CoruΓ±a, but was born in Madrid, the city where he began his degree in Philosophy and Letters, which he later combined with his studies in Gardening and Landscaping at the Castillo de Batre School. Moreover, it is in the Spanish capital where he has his studio and the centre of all his work. In more than thirty years of professional career, Fernando Caruncho has carried out some of the most important landscape projects in our country, such as La Terraza de los Laureles in the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid, the University of Deusto, the Palatchi Garden in Menorca and the Valldemossa Garden in Mallorca, among others. But he is also the author of major works all over the word: in Switzerland, New Zealand, the United States, Japan, Marrakech, Greece, France, Italy... Much of his work has been collected in a monograph, Mirrors of Paradise: The Gardens of Fernando Caruncho, written by Guy Cooper and Gordon Taylor and edited and published by The Monacelli Press in New York.
