Rafael de la Hoz
Rafael de La Hoz Castanys is one of the Spanish architects who has carried out the most projects in our country in recent years. But he is also the author of important architectural ensembles in Portugal, Hungary, Romania, Poland, and the United Arab Emirates. This native of Cordoba studied at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura of Madrid and after completing his degree he did a Master M.D.I. at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where he currently directs the Rafael de La-Hoz Arquitectos studio, previously directed by his father, the prestigious architect Rafael de La-Hoz Arderius. He is also a visiting professor at various universities and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Arquitectura magazine. Among the many awards and recognitions that Rafael de La-Hoz has received are the Averroes de Oro Award for Fine Arts (2010), the 2010 COAM Distinction for the Work of Architects awarded by the Official College of Architects of Madrid and the Innovation Award in the 2006 Quality, Architecture and Housing Awards of the Community of Madrid. Internationally, he has won, among others, the BexAwards 2005 in Greece in the “Technological Innovation” category and the American Architecture Awards 2004.
